June 5, 2023 - The Harmonie Group announced that Cassandra Meyer will be assuming the Executive Director role for the organization on July 1, 2023 upon the retirement of the current Executive Director, Tim Violet. Tim previously announced his retirement after serving 22 years in the role.
"The Harmonie Group is well-positioned for the future because of Tim Violet’s leadership and commitment to the organization. We wish Tim well as he begins his retirement," Cassie Meyer said.
Cassie's selection is the culmination of a robust, multi-year leadership development and succession planning process led by the Board and Harmonie’s Selection Committee.
"With an experienced leadership team guided by the longstanding principles of the organization, the Harmonie Group is poised for success through this transition," remarked Tim Violet. "For the past eight years, Cassie has assumed a leadership role in the organization, beginning with serving on the Board in 2015. In 2019, she was elected as President-Elect of the organization. Cassie led the organization as President of the group from 2021 until the expiration of the term in January 2023 when she assumed the role of Immediate Past President. "Cassie’s leadership role in the group along with her deep experience in the defense industry made it clear that she is the right choice to lead the Harmonie Group through its next phase of continued growth," remarked Stan Wellman, current President of the Harmonie Group.
Cassie began practicing law in 2001, dedicating her career to civil litigation and insurance coverage defense. In her 22 years of practice, Cassie developed an extensive practice, managing a large group of attorneys and collaborating with her clients to provide them with individualized solutions for their legal needs. Cassie served on the Board of Directors of her firm from 2017 through 2020.
Cassie’s law firm has been a member of the Harmonie Group since its inception 30 years ago. Cassie joined the Harmonie Group in 2008 and was actively involved in the group from the beginning. Cassie served as the chair of the Litigation Practices Committee, developing and presenting numerous educational programs presented by the group. Throughout her 15-year membership in the group, Cassie has connected with innumerable industry leaders who utilize the group’s resources so her familiar presence will allow for a seamless transition of the Executive Director role.
"I am incredibly proud of everything that the Harmonie Group has accomplished since I have joined in the organization," said Cassie. "It is a tremendous honor to have been selected to carry on the legacy that Tim has created as the successor Executive Director of the group."
